肝病患者的康复是一个长期的过程，所以，在康复过程中如果能配合必要的养生保健措施，比如规律生活、合理膳食、积极乐观的话，就可以有效地加快肝病康复的速度，同时提高生活质量。
一、保持乐观健康心态。肝炎患者应调整好自己的情绪，正确对待疾病。保持乐观、平常、健康的心情，坚定战胜疾病的信心，才有利于身体康复。情感的变化对肝炎患者的病情影响极大，常言道:“怒伤肝”，“思伤脾”。暴怒和忧思过度会诱发或加重肝病，所以肝病患者遇事要调整好自己的心态，及时化解不良情感的影响。
二、按时作息，防止感染肝病患者应特别注意休息，因肝脏具有贮藏血液和调节血量的作用。活动量越大，其肝脏的血流量越小，故到达肝脏的营养成分就越少，恢复就越慢，所以休息对肝病患者非常重要。活动量以不引起疲劳为原则。由于肝病患者机体免疫力低下，易引起感染，如感冒、支气管炎、泌尿系感染等，要根据气温变化，增减衣服。要养成早睡早起有规律的生活习惯，禁忌熬夜、加班、打麻将等。
三、饮食合理，注重忌宜肝病饮食疗法目的是保护受损的肝脏，原则为高蛋白、高糖、高维生素和低脂肪。饮食要注意以下几点：1、定时进餐；2、饮食定量，每餐不宜过饱；3、少食油腻不易消化食物；4、多食新鲜水果、绿叶蔬菜、含维生素较多的食物及富含蛋白质的食物。主要有鱼虾、蛋类、奶类、瘦肉、豆制品等；5、忌酒，因95%酒精在肝脏代谢，饮酒加重肝脏损害。
四、勿乱用药，定期复查肝病患者用药应有医生指导。对肝脏有害的药尽可能少用，对滋补品、保健药要慎用。因为许多药物都要经过肝脏代谢，乱用药势必加重肝脏负担。要定期到医院复查肝功能，必要时做B超检查，及时了解自己肝脏的状况。
